My Approach
At the heart of my photography is connection, laughter, and authenticity.
I gently guide sessions, but my goal is to let your family’s personality shine. The best photos happen when everyone is comfortable, relaxed, and maybe dancing along to a Taylor Swift hit while I sneak a few candids.
Whether it’s giggles, hugs, or quiet, tender moments, I aim to create images full of warmth, joy, and genuine emotion - photos your family will treasure forever.
What to wear
If you haven't yet chosen your outfits here are some suggestions but remember comfort is key!
Neutrals are your new BFFs, soft creams, beige, whites, gentle earthy tones. They’re timeless, cozy, and let your connection shine.
I also have a client wardrobe ready for use handpicked pieces that photograph beautifully, so you don’t have to stress (bonus: no washing afterwards… you’re welcome).
For newborns, simple is perfect. A plain white onesie is ideal. We want those tiny fingers and toes stealing the show.
For the whole family, go complementary, not matchy-matchy. Think soft tones that blend rather than identical outfits. Avoid black or really dark colours.
FAQ
Do you travel around Tasmania?
Yes! Always up for an adventure and I love a drive. A travel fee does applies to locations more than 20km outside Hobart.
Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?
Absolutely! The location plays a big part in creating photographs that feel personal and meaningful to you. Whether it's your home, a favourite outdoor spot, or somewhere that holds special memories, I'm always happy to capture your session in a place that reflects your story.
If you're unsure where to go, I also have a location guide filled with some of my favourite spots and hidden gems to help you find the perfect setting for your session.
How long does a session last?
Most sessions last between 45 minutes to 1 hour, allowing plenty of time to capture genuine moments while keeping the experience relaxed and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Newborn sessions are a little different and can take up to 2 hours if needed. This allows plenty of time for feeding, settling, cuddles, and working at your baby's pace to ensure a calm and comfortable experience for both you and your little one.
How long does it take to receive my gallery?
I know how exciting it is to see your photos, which is why I aim to deliver your gallery as soon as possible. My turnaround time is typically within 2 weeks of your session, however this may vary slightly during busy periods.
Each image is carefully hand-edited with attention to detail to ensure your final gallery is beautifully curated and ready for you to enjoy for years to come.
What happens if it rains?
If the weather decides not to play nice on the day of your session, don't worry — we'll work together to find the best option. This may mean rescheduling to another date, waiting for the weather to pass, or choosing an alternative location.
If you're happy to embrace a little rain, some of the most beautiful and unique images can be captured using umbrellas and making the most of the atmosphere. Your experience and the final outcome of your gallery are always my priority, and I'll guide you through the best option based on the conditions on the day.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, absolutely! I understand that investing in photography is a big decision, which is why I offer flexible payment options. If you'd like to spread out your payments, just let me know when you enquire and we'll find an option that works for you.
Do my kids need to behave?
As a mum of two young children myself, I completely understand that kids have their own ideas, emotions and energy levels. The good news is that they don't need to sit still, smile on command or be "perfect" for beautiful photos to be created.
You don't need perfectly behaved kids, a magazine-worthy home, or a partner who loves having their photo taken. My sessions are relaxed, playful and guided in a way that allows your family to simply be together. I'll gently direct when needed, follow your children's lead, and capture the genuine moments in between—the cuddles, giggles, chaos and connection that make your family uniquely yours.
